What happens to my data?
Entering your data will automatically set up a profile in our system. Your data will be stored in our applicant database. At the end of the application process, we will keep your data for another 6 months before deleting it. You can find our privacy policy here.

I am interested in a professorship at HSD. What do I need to remember?
Requirements for appointing professors are governed by section 36 of the law on higher education institutions in the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW, HG).
Requirements for appointment alongside general public service law requirements:
● Degree from a higher education institution and usually completed doctoral studies
● Teaching qualifications
● Special ability for academic work, as evident from the quality of the candidate’s doctoral studies (exceptions possible in artistic subjects)
● At least 5 years of post-degree vocational activity out of which at least 3 years must be from an employment outside of the higher education system in a field corresponding to the subject(s) listed in the job ad
